Es will ja keiner seine deutsche Herkunft verleugnen (ist durch den nicht-loszuwerdenden Akzent auch praktisch unmöglich) - aber wer glaubt, er könnte auf seine deutschen Gewohnheiten pochen, ist hier ziemlich auf dem Holzweg.
Ja, man ist in Kanada um hier zu leben und zu arbeiten, und es ist ja auch ganz toll, aber das Klopapier - das ist einfach viel zu dünn! Und das ist leider kein Witz, ich habe das tatsächlich mit meinen eigenen Augen gelesen und auch schon mit eigenen Ohren gehört.
Liebe Auswanderer, die ihr am Klopapier-zu-dünn-Syndrom leidet - euch ist leider nicht zu helfen. Das Klopapier ist nämlich so dünn, damit es von den sog. septic fields, den hauseigenen Kläranlagen, verarbeitet werden kann. Und nachdem es viele, viele Häuser mit eigenen septic fields gibt, ist es eben für alle so.
Für mich stellt sich eher die Frage warum jemand, der sogar am Klopapier verzweifelt, überhaupt auswandert... jammern kann man auch in Deutschland ganz wunderbar.
Also merke: wenn in Kanada, mache so wie die Kanadier - satisfaction guaranteed!
Of course nobody wants to deny their German heritage (as if - with an accent like that...) - but here's my message to any German immigrants who think they can have it all exactly their German way: Wake up and smell the coffee!
Yes, you came to Canada to work and live here and it's all just hunky -dory, but the toilet paper - it's just way too thin...
And that's not a joke, I have actually read this with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears.
Dear immigrants, those of you who suffer from the-toilet-paper-is-too-thin-sydrome - unfortunately, there's no help. Canadian toilet paper is thinner than the German counterpart, because it has to be broken down in septic fields. And since there are quite a few houses out there that still have septic fields... well you get the point - it is how it is.
As far as I am concerned, the real question is: why does somebody, who whines about toilet paper, even leave Germany? There is plenty of opportunity to whine there.
Lesson of the day: when in Canada, do as the Canadians do - satisfaction guaranteed.
